Girl's Night

I seldom post about my nights out with my girlfriends, since we have a 'Friend' blog we post to. However, I know there are some people who may want to see everyone, so I'm gonna post our last get together.
It would be a miracle if we ALL got together at once, in fact, I don't know that it's happened since we all got married. The group consists of Alisha (who we only see once a year), Amber, Bobbi, Christi, Dawn, Jenna, Julie, Lara, Marissa, Trish and me. It's really amazing that we all get together (or the majority of us, at least) once a month. These are friends that I've had since Jr. High, and even elementary school. I am so lucky. We are truly all so different, but we get along so well. I was happy to be able to see Lara this time, since she lives in Vegas and it had been a year since I'd seen her. Lara and I were best friends in elementary school and had some really great, albeit strange, times together. It's nice to be able to get together after a year of not seeing each other and have it be like we see each other weekly. Lara and I were talking about some 'blackmail' type video she has of us from elementary/jr. high days. The truth is, Lara and I were much more mature then the rest of the girls in our neighborhood - physically and mentally. Apparently, we're doing some dancing on said video that would be less than fantastic for our children to emulate. We were always trying to look sexy back then and for what? To look back on and be mortified, I guess. My sister, Nicole, has video of Lara, Amber, Bobbi, Trish and I being equally as ridiculous. I can't wait to get my hands of copies of all of these.
Sorry, back to 'girl's night'. We planned it for Christi's house, for a couple of reasons. Christi just bought a new house, Jenna just had baby Jade, and Christi, Trish, and Jenna all live on the south end of the valley. They usually take the brunt of driving to our various dinners, so we thought we'd give them a break. Unfortunately, this prevented Marissa and her newborn, Liv, from joining us. Though, I can't blame her for not wanting to drive in rush hour traffic with a baby. Dawn was playing at Bear Lake, so we missed her too. Christi went all out and made us a great dinner. Amber picked up cookies from Parson's and then we all went out for ice cream. Without fail, when we are in public, we get stared out. Granted, 8-10 30 yr. old women do cause a stir. Plus, we are not shy. We do our best to keep our conversations quiet, but someone usually ends up blurting out 'boobs' or 'vibrator' for all to hear. In restaurants, we always request corner or back booths, so we don't cause such a raucous. The bottom line is, we love to be together! We can talk about our ups and downs or our ins and outs, and we do. We took a bunch of pictures, so I'll try to post more later. (Josh is out of town and has the camera with him.) We were there for almost 5 hours. I didn't get home until 12:30am, but it was so worth it!
A big thanks to my 'girls' who are the only people, besides my family, that get me out of my house. I'm not much of a social butterfly anymore, but I love to be around my friends. If it's been more than a month since I've seen them, I miss them terribly!
Love you all!

How fun that you all stay in contact. It is awesome that you are all so tight. Everyone looks so good. Jenna's baby is a doll. I unfortunately am horrible about staying in contact w/people. I would have love to go to lunch but we are back in PHX. I am going through trying to post all our many adventures from our journey! Next year when we come home we'll have to get something set up.

We do create quite a stir, I'm not sure why--maybe it's the volume, maybe it's the content of our conversations :) It was fun to visit with everyone and thankfully Jade slept through the entire event.
