She was born Thursday, 10/21/10 at 5:06am. (I suggested the doctor hold off for 5 min. so Mason and she could be born at the same time, other than the difference between am/pm. The doctor rolled his eyes at me and said 'I'm not leaving you all undone and waiting 5 min to pull her out.' Ha) We had a c-section scheduled for Friday, 10/22. She wasn't about to wait for her debut.
She weighed 7.6 lbs and was 19 inches long. She was down to 7.1 lbs at leaving the hospital, which is very normal.
Not much of a story about her arrival really. I had my mind made up that she could come on 10/20/10 (similar to Mason's 07/14/07), so the doctor gave me some bodily tricks to try to get me into labor. I began them on Tuesday night. Sure enough, I went into labor Wednesday....just not til 10pm. GROWL! By 1am on Thursday morning I started timing them. 10 min. apart. I called my mom and asked her to come up to stay with Mason. I woke Josh up at 2:15am and said, 'We're going to the hospital. I'm having contractions.' I was checked in at the hospital and physically 'checked' by about 3:30am. Baby's head was way low into the canal and I was 90% thinned. Since I was planning on a c-section anyway, she stopped poking and prodding once she felt confident to call the doctor. My doctor had one more c-section and then he'd be there to see me. We were wheeled to the Operating Room around 4:30 and by 5:06am, BABY! It was all much speedier than Mason's birth. The spinal block was almost as devastating mentally as an epidural. Ugh. Just don't care for needles in my spine. Josh was amazing through it though and let me hold onto him as tight as I needed. I am so grateful. Mason loves his sister, even if he does insist that her name is Ken-a-ley. We'll keep working on it.
