Imagine my disappointment when I unpacked the nativity set to find broken and missing pieces. I know what you are thinking, 'glue the pieces back together'. Of course, that's an option. The angel can't fly with only one wing. Donkeys can't hear with no ears (only 1 of 4 ears is even with the set). Joseph (or a witness) obviously can't do much without a HEAD! Unfortunately, Mary and baby Jesus are missing too. How am I supposed to put up a nativity set without Jesus? Come on, now!
These pieces are so unique (and old) that I can't imagine finding a way to replace them. That won't stop me from trying though.
Here are the pictures of the nativity scene sans Mary and Jesus. I thought you might enjoy seeing what I grew up with and the shambles it has become.

brandy - i am laughing so hard! i love it! all the more memories to be made with what's left! :) i'm sure you'll enjoy the set for many years to come. i especially enjoyed that you laid the broken head at joseph's feet...how nice. thanks for the giggle.
That is a cool looking set - very danish looking! Good luck on your search! My kids tend to commander the Baby Jesus. I've found some in their beds, with their toys etc. I never know if it is appropriate to let them play with Nativities or not but I figure it helps them learn the story!
That is so sad - although you never know what you'll find on E-Bay. We just bought our first "heirloom-quality" nativity this year and I'm paranoid about the kids touching it - now I'm even more!
