Christmas was great! We had so much fun. Josh, Mason and I spent Christmas Eve night at my parent's house with the Perkes Family. This is a tradition that I love, but admittedly, it gets harder each year. I plan to continue it until it no longer makes sense though. Christmas Eve was spent eating, playing games, watching an amazing DVD that Nicole had made of our families over the last 6 years, and opening some Christmas Eve presents. Each child gets Christmas jammies and a book. Niki's kids also got a stuffed animal that went with their books. Mason isn't much for stuffed animals, so I skipped that part. I had wrapped most everyone's presents this year, so I had brought up all of the presents for all 3 families as well. At about 9pm, I realized that one special gift was missing (NIKI AND WADE, DON'T READ THIS WITH ETHAN!). I noticed that Ethan's present from Santa was missing. He and Ellie got one present from Santa each, so it was obviously critical that I locate the gift. Ethan's bday is on 12/28, so I figured I must have left it with his bday presents at home. Mom and I drove over to my house and I couldn't find it right off. I was in quite the panic (as were Nic and Wade)! Finally, I remembered that I had stacked a lot of the presents on my kitchen table before wrapping them. Sure enough, the present had slipped off the table and was laying on one of my chairs. PHEW! Mom and I grabbed it and went back to set up for Christmas morning. Mason's presents were few this year, since he doesn't really need much. The Jeep was his big gift and he loves it! For Christmas morning with 3 young kids, I wanted to make sure everyone knew the Jeep was for Mason. I decided to print off a picture of him and put it on the windsheild. I was happy that it worked out well and Ethan and Ellie both knew it was for Mas.
It was a close tie as to who loved Ellie's kitchen set more, Dad or Mason.
We could have easily given Mason the kitchen set and Ellie the Jeep. Both of them loved the others' presents. In fact, here's a picture of Mason reading one of Ellie's books. They are close enough in age that the same things interest them. It's very cute, actually.
Here is a video clip of Ellie playing with Mason's race cars and Mason in the background playing with Ellie's kitchen set. (I don't know how to cut video clips yet, so you can really just stop watching after the first 30 sec. Otherwise, ignore my sassyness with Wade.)
Note that Mason is playing with Ellie's dollhouse and Ellie has her hand on Mason's Jeep. I think it's absolutely adorable!
After all was said and done, Wade and Mason looked ultimately bored and tired. Mason picking his nose, while Wade catches some shut eye.
Hopefully, Stacy will get me the pics from her camera too. Then I'll have the rest of my family to show you as well. I took video while they were over instead. Merry Christmas everyone! I hope it was wonderful for you.Oh, by the way, I never found a Dr. Pepper ornament that I loved, so my Mom and I made one ourselves. I bought the vintage bottle caps for $2 on ebay. Cute, huh?

Man, Santa dumped his load at your place. Those Jeeps are a ton of fun. I wonder how soon before Mason runs you over!?! I love Ellie's doll house. There is something so much fun about a dollhouse.
