WHAT....a whirlwind

I am happy to know that I am not the only one who is posting random blog entries. I know it really hasn't been that long since my last entry, but it feels like ages ago. I don't have any really fantastic stories to report, but I do have some cute pictures. Mason is just being his cute (albeit naughty) self. He's doing this new fake whine with an appropriately cute face to go along with it. I haven't caught it on camera yet, but I will. It's so silly and pathetic looking. He's definitely getting more aggressive lately, which is not so fun. I was happy to learn that it is totally normal at this age and that he truly doesn't mean to be malicious. He is hitting me, biting me and throwing far too many tantrums! I am doing my best to express to him not to lash out so much. 'Mason, no, that hurts', 'Mason, no, that's not safe'. The underlying meaning behind it all is usually more like 'Mason, NO, Mama has no tolerance for that!'

Mason, my mom, and I went to Idaho to visit my Mom's side of the family this last weekend. We always stretch our visits out an extra day or two and they still go by so fast. We played lots with cousins Cy and Catcher. Catcher and Heidi both had a little stomach bug, which sadly, I now have. Other than that, all was wonderful. We went to the Mini Bazaar (a favorite boutique of mine, with the best sugar cookies in the world!). We went and visited the Jackson's (Mom's sister, Bonnie) and got to walk through my cousin Jaden's new house. He and Julie are still working like dogs to get it finished next month, but it looks so beautiful already and they've done 99% of the building themselves. We visited my 96 year old Grandma, not that she was aware of it. Usually, she perks right up for babies, but she was too tired this time.

My mom is always such a help when I take Mason to Idaho. Really, she just lets me sleep. She loves the one-on-one time with Mason, and Barb, Dave, Heidi, and the boys all help entertain him. I haven't been sleeping well at all, so I napped as much as I could this trip. It cut down on some quality time with family, which is partly why we stayed longer. Mason found a love for cars...again. It's hard to resist when you can drive in them, or be driven places by a 3 yr. old. He wasn't playing with age appropriate toys all weekend, but I watched him like a hawk. Blah, blah, blah. Let's look at pictures!

Mason can push the button and make this one go on his own!

I think I'm more impressed with this car than Mason is. Catcher (3) driving Mason (1). SCARY!

Here's a slide for some of the other cute pics. We are so grateful to spend time with our family. We love you guys!!

When I returned home, Josh admitted to being 'baby hungry'. I teased him about really wanting another baby, but he assured me he was just missing his Mason! Josh was surprised at how much Mason changed in just a few short days. He talks more, 'walks' better, etc. I'll know it all too well when I go to Vegas this coming week. It was nice to get home and even better when I noticed that Josh had cleaned the entire house. He's really a much better 'wife' than I am. He'd cleaned, organized, and even put up Halloween decorations. WOW! The house looks awesome! What a nice gesture.

hey... i totally know.
ever since i saw the movie 'meet the robinsons' for the first time and heard that song on there (which was after aaron passed away)... that song just hit me like a ton of bricks. the words just are so perfect. i totally understand what you mean.
it was so great driving up the canyon and seeing the colors of the leaves. it is something aaron and i would have wanted to do with aaron jr, so i had to go.
good to hear from you. :)

How awesome that your hubby cleaned the house. I think it is their way of letting us know they missed us (and that they appreciate what we do). It is nice to get away and let your Mom spoil you. When we go home to visit it is always such a whirlwind trying to see and do everything that we never relax and enjoy family!

I wouldn't worry about Catcher driving your young child...he is all boy as you know...so he's not so bad at the wheel....well....most of the time. ;)
