Lemon testing

Mason eating the lemon
So while at my parent's house this evening, my father decided to entertain Mason with various fruits. First, it was a tomato. Yes, my father just handed Mason a full size tomato to play with. Mason bounced it a few times and then threw it on the hard wood floor. It split open and Mason promptly crawled through the seedy mess. Dad got a good laugh out of it and was quick to offer him another piece of fruit. This time, a lemon. Much more durable. Mason took turns throwing the lemon to us and finally put it up to his mouth for a bite. I didn't catch any faces of dismay as he bit into it, so maybe he didn't mind the bitter taste. Anyhow, I got some video of him throwing the lemon around like a ball and enjoying the heck out of himself (and Grandpa)!

Mason also gets to play in their cabinets, since mine are all locked at home. He thinks it's great fun! Here are some pictures of his playtime.

Those pics are so cute. Your dad is adorable with Mason.

M. did something similar with Peter, only it was a lemon slice (!!) in a nice restaurant (!!!) when he was 4 weeks old (!!!!). Peter was not amused and we had to leave before we even got our food! I was so mad!

Then, when Peter had teeth, M. gave him a tomato. Being Italian, M. thought he'd see if Peter got his genes or mine, since I'm not fond of tomatoes. Peter's definitely Italian. Given the chance, he still eats tomatoes whole, like apples. :)

That is too cute - I can totally see Doug giving him the lemon to see what he thinks of it. Funny!
