From A6 (to Corolla) to Outback

A couple of weekends ago, we sold our Audi. I've loved, loved, loved that car for the last 3 years, but it was a V6 and a gas guzzler. As on any 10 yr. old car, it was only a matter of time before things started going wrong with it. Unfortunately, Audis are extremely expensive to fix. We had always planned on selling it when I decided to stay home with Mason (which has now been over a year ago!). I kept it through the winter for the All Wheel Drive, but by summer we knew it had to go. We didn't have many bites on it at all, which made me sad. Of course, I wanted someone to love the car as much as I did. Finally, the right people came along and bought it! We've been 'borrowing' my parent's Corolla for awhile so that Josh didn't have to commute in his huge truck to NSL and back every day. It's been a great car and my parents are so great to let us use it for such a long time. Josh wanted to get a more functional car to replace the Audi (i.e. could fit a bike and a few action packers in it). He had interest in the Subaru Outback, which I was okay with. Out of the zillions of cars out there, it was so nice that Josh had his eyes on one that I liked too! We spent ALL day Saturday driving around to various cities to test drive Outbacks. Mason was with us and was such a trooper. We literally spent 10 hours in and out of the car. He only got to nap for an hour all day and I'm sure it wasn't very restful in his carseat. After going to Springville and back to Ogden, we ended up buying one in Ogden. About 5 miles from our house. We're both very happy with the purchase and I like that it doesn't look too much like a 'mom car'. Keep in mind, it's primarily for Josh's use anyway, but I'll drive it on the weekends. I drive the truck around during the week, since I don't stray too far from home. The Outback has a history of being reliable and lasting for a long time. Both important features to me. Plus, it's All Wheel Drive! The kid who owned it put in a killer stereo system too, which I like. We'll be removing some of it though, since I don't want 36'' x 18'' sub woofers taking up my cargo space!

Mason getting his only nap of the day. We really are lucky at how 'chill' our baby is.

The thing I love about the Outbacks is that they are quick! I was surprised how well they do. My mom's got one and loves it in the snow! I want to get a new car!

Not a mom car?!?! Hello, it's a station wagon! :) We love ours too - good pick! You'll love it in the snow as much as your Audi.

well hello again, fellow night owl.
i have to say, giving blood this time around was more difficult for me than usual, but only after the fact. it has never really affected me before (besides the few hours after it). but even today, i was weak and had a hard day being able to stand for very long. i think it has to do with the emotional roller coaster i have been on for 9.5 months.
anyhow... i still loved it and i will be doing it again soon.
you should go. if you do, let me know how it goes.
have a good night (morning).

by the way... aaron jr has always been really good in the car and sleeps in the car a lot. it has always been nice for him to catch naps in his car seat.
