Biking, Rollerblading, Strolling

My brother-in-law, Wade, has been taking his kids to the park to help them ride their bikes. Ethan doesn't get the opportunity much where they live, since they live on a hill. Not all that safe for him while he's still learning. And Ellie, well she is scary (and cute) no matter where she is.

There is a park in West Layton with a wide, 1 mile square sidewalk. It's perfect for such outings. I've begged Wade to let me know when they go, so that I could tag along. Mason loves to be outside in his stroller and I think it's relatively boring to go on 'walks'. Wade called me at 8am and said that they were going down there soon. I told Wade that it was the 'butt crack of dawn' and that I had no interest in venturing out so early. He reminded me that he'd been up for hours and that it was a nice day. Blah! I am NOT a morning person at all. I don't care if Mason wakes me up, it still doesn't make me all happy in the morning. He assured me that we'd have fun and that it would be worth it. He was right, of course! I grabbed my rollerblades and the jogging stroller and we met them there.
We spent about 30 min. riding around at Ethan's speed, while Wade took Ellie at her speed. Ellie took a tumble off her bike first thing, but was okay. I don't know how she could see a darn thing with her hair and helmet in her eyes! Don't get me wrong, Wade tries to pull her hair back, but it has a mind of it's own. They're working on growing it out to ponytail length. It's slow going. (Note: the Alfalfa style hair is from rubber bands/clips that she pulls out.)


I had planned on doing a couple more laps around the park after they left, but it was way passed Mason's nap time and he wasn't happy. He loves the stroller, so I know he's REALLY tired when he whines to get out!
