We had a delightful trip to Washington DC last week. There were many things that 'concerned' me about this trip, but the two items that were at the top of my list were: 1. flying with Mason and 2. the heat. To be honest I lucked out on both, for the most part. Mason was surprisingly good on the plane, which was about 5 hours worth, each way. As for the heat, the first half of the trip was during a cold streak of 85* or so. The last half was up to 100*, added with humidity.
I haven't really felt like blogging much, so where I could take this opportunity to write a lengthy, journal-like entry...I don't want to. Instead, I'll give the basics and insert a fantastic little slide show (as usual).
The trip was a Heiner family trip. Josh's parents gave everyone the option to come on this trip, all expenses paid, for Christmas 2009. We opted for a week of it and were grateful for the amazing opportunity. Neither of us had ever been to DC and really couldn't imagine choosing it as a destination point on our own. However, we're not stupid. We know it's an awesome place to visit! Josh's parents purchased a townhouse a year or so ago in Virginia, just about 30 minutes outside of Washington DC. We stayed in this house, along with some other family members. Let's just say, Josh has a large family and we never felt crowded at all. Maybe, at some point, I'll write down more details of the trip. For now, just know we had a great time! I should warn you that I am the picture taker most of the time, so there are very few pics of me.

I LOVE DC. All the museums make me so happy! I loved the slide show except for one thing: Mason looks too big! He's growing up!
Looks like you had a fun time! Although, when did Mason turn into a little man??? He looks so grown up!
