We're still here...are you?

I realize that this may be the longest hiatus I've taken from blogging. My excuse? I don't really have one. I suppose that my focus for 'wee hour entertainment' has gone to a new online game, Mafia Wars. I'm not sure you really need a post on that, unless it'll encourage you to join my Mafia.

Anyway, most recently, I have started a new part time job. I've been searching for work for a couple of months now and have finally started working at the DATC (Davis Applied Technology Center). It is a vocational college in Kaysville. I am working as a Customer Service Rep. in the Student Services department. I assist students with schedule/enrollment changes and question answering. Of course, I don't know enough yet to be any help to anyone, but I will learn. I started on Wednesday and worked a 4 hour shift. My regular shift is 4 hrs/day 5 days/week. My darling mother has offered to watch Mason the majority of the time, with some help from my in-laws. I am so very grateful to have family close and willing to watch Mason. It made my first day go smoothly, knowing that Mason was so well taken care of.

On Tuesday, I started coming down with a cold. I took Airborne like crazy for the first day. I went to work yesterday and survived it all very well. And then night time set in. I was feeling definitely worse and drugged myself to sleep. I called into work yesterday morning to make sure they were okay with me coming in sick, since I still felt that I could last a mere 4 hours on the jobsite. They were cool with it, so I went to lay down for a bit to prepare for work. I didn't really sleep, since I was coughing. I tried to take a shower, nope. Got all woozy and lightheaded. I crawled back in bed, called in 'sick' on my 2nd day of work, and begged my mom to come watch Mason while I slept. My mom is just awesome! Of course, she came right over (and cleaned while she was here).

Josh turned 33 yesterday (4/30) and I felt bad that I was sick. He went to work, as usual, but we'll celebrate this weekend. He asked for dinner at Ruby River and to go see Wolverine. I bought him a delightfully funny card...well, it was funny to me.
"Being known as the 'fun one' of the group is a good thing. Unless you're in prison.
Happy Birthday. Avoid prison."

I have some pictures to post, but it won't happen right now. Later, friends, after sleep.

Love the card. 33, wow. When did we start getting this old? I swear part of me still feels 17 but the rest of me feels 77. Congrats on the new job. I bet the students love you. It is nice to have family nearby -- we only lived near family for a little bit and it was nice to drop off the kid for a well needed nap. Now I just ignore them until I hear screams of pain!
