Laughter is for the birds

As I've mentioned before, we are a hand-me-down family. We LOVE it, too! We got a new batch of toys from Nic's kids a couple of weeks ago and Mason has enjoyed it to the fullest extent possible. I've been working on a box of 'stuff' to take to Savers (since about Christmas) and there were a few of these new toys that were on their way out. Unfortunately, Mason and Josh got into the toys before I had a chance to junk a few. (Now for story time, to preface my hatred of one particular toy.)

I wouldn't say that I hate birds, but I have a fear of some of the exotic ones. (Tawni, you may want to take some deep breaths.) When I was younger, before the Hogle Zoo contained their birds, a toucan flew at me in my stroller. I have such poor memories that I can only imagine what people have told me of that day. None the less, I have this ridiculous fear of most large, colorful birds. Given that small, but traumatic story, here is a video clip of one of the toys Nicole sent my way. As you'll notice, Mason has his 'unsure' moments as well with his new feathered friend.

Unfortunately, he's only gotten more comfortable around this silly puppet. He continues to make me play with it and attack his cute, little hands with the bird's mouth. I shudder.

I LOVE all the video clips. It is so fun to hear Mason's laugh. He is darling little boy, Brandy, and obviously very loved.

His laugh is the best! I love his shirt, too. For the record, I don't think there's anything wrong with certain toys mysteriously "disappearing"...we've also been known to remove the batteries from some of ours! Why do they always find the box of giveaway toys and think they're great all over again?

i have to agree, the video clips are great! when my sister was little, she had monkeys throw their poop at her. i don't think she still has monkey issues, tho... :)
