The best day of the year!

First, I will apologize to my few fans who continue to check this blog for updates, that never come. I will do better.

You may or may not know that my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. It is a day to be lazy and be with family, plus stuff yourself silly. Sure, this could happen every other day, since my family mostly lives in the same state, but it doesn't. It's the only day of the year that I cook and am grateful to do so. I have my selected contributions, but it seems I do a little more each year. I suppose, it depends on who is coming to dinner. This year, Stacy's family headed to her in-laws. We always miss them when they go there. I guess we had so many years of her kids at soccer tournaments over Thanksgiving, that now it seems unfair to have to share holidays with their in-laws.

We were blessed to have a few additions to the dinner table, though. My Aunt Barb and Uncle Dave came from Idaho Falls. I am unsure whether they have ever joined us before, but they are so fun to be around. Not only is Barb one of my closest friends, Dave is so great with the kids and for a good laugh. I am very grateful that they chose to spend such a special day with us. Wade's dad also joined us this year. Seems odd, I know. That's what I thought when Niki first brought it up. And then, within seconds, it just didn't matter. The idea of anyone not having family to be with on Thanksgiving tears at my heartstrings. We were happy to have him join us and he was happy to enjoy our great cooking!

The turkey seemed exceptionally great this year. I think Wade outshines himself each year. He loves to cook and he has some creative flare to his dishes. Thanksgiving is a holiday of tradition for us and we beg Wade not to do anything different or fancy with the food. He obliges. We don't make Nic and Wade do much more than turkey and gravy, since they have to get their house ready for 20 or so people every year. Let me just say, THANK YOU! It's worth it for me to cook more, so that we can enjoy great Wade food and a great place to settle.
I made the mashed potatoes, yams, deviled eggs, shrimp dip and rice krispie treats, this year!
I only took a few pictures, since we all stuffed our faces after that! And one of these days, DAD, you'll stop making goofy faces when I get the camera out. Wa ha ha!

I love Thanksgiving, too. And I LOVE the pics! It seems that somehow Mason is losing the baby look. Is that true, or is it just the angle of the pic on the stairs?

And your dad gives funny looks because he's funny looking. ;) Totally kidding. Does he even remember who I am?
